Product Launch Manager Role Overview

The Product Launch Manager will oversee all aspects of product launches for various portfolio segments, including in-house developed, in-licensed, and co-developed products. This role will support New Product Development (NPD) project management and work closely with cross-functional and regional teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with regional leaders and key functions to ensure timely adherence to NPL milestones.
  • Drive excellence in launch management to achieve successful execution.
  • Collaborate with regional heads to deliver accurate data on NPL timelines and replenishment plans.
  • Lead cross-functional planning, including resource allocation, material planning, financial assessments, and capacity planning.
  • Provide inputs for portfolio decisions, identifying dependencies and implications.
  • Implement best practices in NPL management, using dashboards, templates, and tools for efficient planning and execution.
  • Facilitate alignment and accountability within regional and corporate functions to meet company goals.
  • Manage NPL calendars, optimize governance processes, and partner with senior management as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication of launch status across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain integrated launch plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders within and outside the company.
  • Foster NPL talent through coaching, performance management, and setting clear expectations.
  • Oversee a team of planners and launch managers.
  • Have a strong understanding of oncology/specialty products in Europe and emerging markets.
  • Provide insights on customer preferences and product potential in the European market.
  • Assess go-to-market strategies and support local teams in customer profiling, target setting, and channel planning.
  • Manage the end-to-end commercial aspects of new product launches, from demand generation to supply planning.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree or higher (e.g., MS, MBA) in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience: 20+ years in planning, NPL, or a related role in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Leadership skills: Proven leadership and management experience, with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Deep knowledge: Deep knowledge of planning, product development, regulatory processes, and launch management.
