Database Administration Role

We are seeking a highly skilled database administrator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MS SQL database administration, including SQL Server, T-SQL, RAID configurations, database migration, capacity management, and performance tuning.

  1. Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across production, development, and testing environments.
  2. Perform database tuning, optimization, and capacity planning to ensure high availability and scalability.
  3. Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes to ensure compliance with RTO/RPO objectives.
  4. Implement and maintain database security policies, including user access control, encryption, and auditing.

Performance Optimization

  • Monitor and analyze SQL Server performance using tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and Performance Monitor.
  • Optimize queries, indexes, and database schema to improve application performance and reduce latency.
  • Collaborate with developers to review and refine T-SQL code for efficiency and adherence to best practices.

Windows System Integration

  • Administer Windows Server environments hosting SQL Server instances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows-related issues impacting SQL Server.
  • Configure and optimize drive performance, including RAID configurations, SAN/NAS storage, and SSD/NVMe utilization.

Storage and Drive Management

  • Analyze and optimize disk I/O performance for SQL Server workloads.
  • Design and implement storage solutions to support high-performance database operations.
  • Work with system administrators to align storage configurations with SQL Server best practices.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical database incidents.
  • Stay current with SQL Server updates, patches, and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
