Job Title

We are seeking an experienced Airfield Engineer to lead our aviation team in India. This is a crucial role in the growth and development of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the design lead for airfield civil engineering projects.
  • Manage project delivery while giving leadership and direction to junior team members.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications related to airfield engineering projects.
  • Contribute to technical design reviews to meet quality management requirements.
  • Participate in design and provide technical input throughout the full design process.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate designs with team members and clients.
  • Identify and manage design risks, issues, and Request for Information (RFIs).
  • Support Project Managers by undertaking project progress monitoring and contributing to project controls.
  • Implement technical quality requirements, address project briefs, and meet client deadlines.
  • Act as a role model, line manager, and mentor for other staff.
  • Champion excellent health and safety in design.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of civil infrastructure design experience at airports.
  • Civil engineering experience working on large, technically complex airport projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
  • Experience managing engineering professionals in the delivery of technical aviation projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritisation of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Experience of international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA.
  • Knowledge and experience of using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant airfield engineering design software packages.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Status or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts such as NEC 4.
