Technical Superintendent
  • The primary responsibility of a Technical Superintendent is to ensure that all vessels under their supervision are properly maintained, and their certifications are always up to date.
  • This involves coordinating with the crew, performing regular inspections, and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • A key aspect of this role is monitoring and managing operating costs within allocated budgets.
  • Additionally, Technical Superintendents must attend surveys as required, provide technical assistance and advice to ship owners, and supervise all technical management activities for assigned vessels.
  • They work closely with the surveys and certifications team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Another critical duty is formulating long-term maintenance plans, ensuring that planned maintenance systems are adhered to, and coordinating repairs and dry docking when necessary.
  • The role also involves compiling detailed reports on vessel performance, maintenance, and expenditures, as well as communicating regularly with ship owners about operational matters.
