We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Kitchen Team Member to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, ensuring that every dish that leaves our kitchen meets our high expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food in a clean and organized manner.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables to ensure they are free from any dirt or contaminants.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality in every dish.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
- Prepare cold foods such as salads, sandwiches, and fruit platters.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently and adjust cooking times accordingly.
- Monitor food quality while preparing food to ensure it meets our high standards.
- Set-up and break down work station, maintaining a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles, paying attention to presentation and garnishes.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food to prevent cross-contamination.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in culinary arts preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen setting, preferably in a senior role.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Familiarity with food safety guidelines and regulations.
