Procurement Specialist Job Description

The company seeks a Procurement Specialist to provide sourcing value within the procurement department for business spend categories. This includes managing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting clients on governance requirements, and improving procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the execution of the sourcing process to identify and manage relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Support clients on related governance requirements for their deal, including third-party risk management, AML screening, and financial viability.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of various procurement processes.

Role Summary:

  • Support and manage high-volume low-risk engagements with prompt turnaround in mind.
  • Lead clients through the sourcing process, including contract negotiations, contract execution, risk and governance support, and approvals.
  • Assess, define, and resolve procurement issues, including contractual terms and conditions and escalations by internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Apply project management concepts to planning and execution of the sourcing process.
  • Ensure all related governance processes are completed prior to final approval.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant sourcing/procurement experience.
  • Proven expertise leading sourcing initiatives, developing strategies (i.e., deal management, contract review, and negotiations).
  • Skills and ability to work with internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Familiarity with vendor contract language and Sourcing Modules.
  • Understanding of general procurement challenges and solutions.
  • Ability to work with internal legal counsel and other governance stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Effective client relationship management skills.
  • Financial analysis skills, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Confidence in leading negotiations to conclusion.
  • Ability to work with internal legal counsel and other stakeholders.
  • Results-driven approach with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Experience creating project plans, managing to plans, communicating effectively, and engaging necessary stakeholders.

Assets:

  • Experience with Sourcing Modules.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk for Financial Service Institutions.
