Database Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Expert to join our team. As a key member of our database infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with application teams to integrate seamlessly with our database systems.
  • Implement best practices for supported datastores (Primarily MySQL, PostgreSQL) and enforce database security, backup, and recovery protocols.
  • Work on observability of relevant database metrics and contribute to reaching database objectives.
  • Provide database expertise to engineering teams through reviews of database migrations, queries, and performance optimizations.
  • Contribute to automation of database infrastructure and provide self-service tools to support engineering success.
  • Perform regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning to ensure scalability.
Requirements:
  • At least 4-8 years of experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases in large environments.
  • Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
  • Knowledge of the internals of MySQL/PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of load balancing solutions such as ProxySQL.
  • Experience with tools and methods for monitoring database performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Knowledge of caching (Redis / Elasticache).
  • Scripting languages (Python).
  • Infrastructure automation (Terraform/Ansible).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
