GIS Support Specialist

Location: Mohali, India

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced GIS Support Specialist to provide technical assistance, resolve issues, and enhance the usability of GIS mapping applications. The role involves ensuring data accuracy, configuring GIS tools, and supporting users in effectively applying geospatial solutions to business operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for GIS mapping applications through multiple channels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, data, and functionality issues.
  • Conduct training sessions and create user guides, FAQs, and documentation.
  • Assist in geospatial data acquisition, processing, and integration.
  • Configure and customize GIS applications, scripts, and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address user needs and deliver solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical support for GIS applications or related software.
  • Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial analysis, and mapping concepts.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar).
  • Familiarity with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and coordinate systems.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
