Programme Director Role Overview

The Programme Director is a senior leadership position overseeing the strategic development and implementation of educational initiatives across multiple schools. This role drives the expansion of programmes through visionary leadership, effective collaboration, and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Development
    • Provide proactive leadership for programme growth, focusing on innovation and improvement to align with school goals.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for enhancing programme presence, reputation, and student outcomes.
    • Promote programme values and ethos throughout the school community, fostering engagement and support.
    • Collaborate with school leaders to develop whole-school plans and ensure cross-programme alignment.
  • Authorisation and Evaluation Management
    • Lead and manage programme authorization and re-authorization processes, ensuring full compliance with international standards and best practices.
    • Coordinate preparation of documentation, evidence, and reports for IB authorization/evaluation visits.
    • Act as primary point of contact with the IB during authorization, evaluation, and ongoing programme development.
    • Facilitate staff training and readiness, ensuring the school community is well-prepared for authorization/evaluation.
    • Implement and monitor action plans based on feedback from IB authorization or evaluation reports.
  • Programme Oversight and Compliance
    • Ensure strict adherence to IBO regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Oversee authorization and re-authorization processes in coordination with the IB and school leaders.
    • Lead and manage the IB evaluation process, including preparation, implementation of recommendations, and ongoing monitoring.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IB developments and communicate key updates to staff.
  • Curriculum and Academic Quality Assurance
    • Oversee curriculum development and delivery, ensuring alignment with IB subject guides and academic standards.
    • Monitor curriculum planning, assessment practices, and internal standardization across subjects.
    • Ensure effective implementation of the IB Core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, CAS).
    • Support differentiation and academic interventions for students with diverse needs.
  • Staff Development and Performance Enhancement
    • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for programme staff.
    • Ensure teaching staff have relevant IB training and certifications.
    • Conduct performance reviews and support instructional excellence.
    • Foster a collaborative professional learning community.
  • Student Support and Achievement Monitoring
    • Monitor student progress, engagement, and well-being throughout the programme.
    • Oversee academic advising and subject selection processes for programme students.
    • Support students facing challenges related to the programme's academic rigour.
  • Communication and Community Engagement Strategies
    • Act as the primary point of contact for programme-related matters.
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff about programme expectations, policies, and progress.
    • Organize orientation sessions, information evenings, and promotional events for the programme.
    • Build a positive reputation for the programme internally and externally.
