Internal Audit Professional

We are seeking a seasoned Internal Audit professional to join our team. As an Internal Audit expert, you will be responsible for conducting thorough audits of our depository operations to ensure the highest level of integrity and compliance.

  1. Conduct periodic internal audits of depository operations, systems, and procedures to evaluate their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  2. Assess the adequacy of risk management practices and ensure they align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  3. Identify discrepancies or weaknesses in depository processes and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.

  4. Evaluate regulatory compliance and ensure that our activities meet relevant financial regulations.

  5. Review and monitor compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and legal requirements concerning depository services.

  6. Prepare reports on regulatory compliance and collaborate with regulatory authorities to resolve any issues.

  7. Perform risk-based assessments to identify potential operational, financial, and security risks in depository functions.

  8. Recommend and assist in implementing risk mitigation strategies to improve operational efficiency and prevent potential risks.

  9. Ensure the integrity, security, and data protection measures of our depository system are in place.

  10. Analyze and evaluate current depository processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.

  11. Collaborate with internal teams to implement process improvements and enhance overall depository operations effectiveness.

  12. Document audit findings, risk analysis, and recommendations for improvement in detailed reports.

  13. Presentation of audit findings and suggested improvements to senior management and other stakeholders.

  14. Maintain audit records and document audit processes and results for future reference and regulatory purposes.

  15. Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on previously identified issues to ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

  16. Regular internal reviews to verify corrective measures have been implemented effectively.

  17. Collaboration with internal departments to ensure seamless auditing and risk management procedures.

  18. Provide insights and guidance on best practices for managing and mitigating depository-related risks to internal stakeholders.

  19. Train staff on regulatory compliance and internal audit processes to enhance awareness and operational standards.

  20. Special audits or investigations as requested by senior management or in response to identified concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, preferably in the depository, financial services, or banking sector.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for depository operations, including knowledge of SEBI, RBI guidelines, and other relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with internal audit methodologies, risk assessment tools, and audit software (e.g., ACL, IDEA, TeamMate).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with strong data analysis skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and process inefficiencies.
