Job Purpose

The Controls Assurance Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing testing plans to ensure the effectiveness of critical key controls. This role focuses on assurance activities, with the potential to move into other operational risk domains.

The specialist will work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize testing activities, develop control tests, and manage analysts. They will also prepare draft reports reflecting results of work performed and advise the business on appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of testing methodology for critical key controls.
  • Plan and execute control tests, coordinating review process with key stakeholders and managing analysts.
  • Prepare draft reports reflecting results of work performed and advise the business on appropriate solutions.
  • Present results to senior management to get buy-in and agreement to action.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Personal integrity and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach to governance and change.
  • Problem-solving skills and collaboration experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree level education in a relevant field.
  • 4+ years' experience in information security controls assurance or IT audit.
  • Understanding of IT systems and operation.
  • Experience performing controls testing.
  • Experience of data analytics or continuous monitoring.
