Job Description:

About the Role: This is a position where you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our tax obligations are met and we comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities: As key member of our team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of audit reports, income tax returns, and other statutory forms based on detailed analysis of applicability of clauses, sections, etc. through effective coordination with various functions
  • Preparing submissions in response to notices from authorities, undertaking detailed study of case history, legal research on issued involved, and preparation of appeal submissions to be submitted before assessing officer, CITA, DRP, and ITAT, and overseas tax authorities
  • Providing consultancy on TDS applicability and withholding tax implications on payments made by entities after analyzing treaty benefits, undertaking in-depth research in order to provide consultancy on certain transactions, capital gains issues, corporate structuring, etc.
  • Analysis of the tax implications of certain incentives given to employees and advising internal stakeholders, HR, Payroll teams on the tax-effective structure for employees on a need basis
  • Keeping oneself and team updated on tax reforms and keeping team members and superiors updated on impact on measures if any to be taken
  • Effectively liaising with external and internal stakeholders, LT corporate DT, and other internal functions to represent us externally on tax-related matters with conceptual clarity that would enable to justify the stands taken by us
  • Understanding current tax processes effectively, connecting business processes with tax function, applying tools, and process improvements to tax function
  • Taking initiative to automate tasks to make the tax function more effective and efficient
  • Identifying, analyzing, and highlighting areas or events with potential tax risks, ability to suggest strategies to manage and mitigate the risk
