Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer use cases involving Juniper products and develop a test strategy plan for network solutions.
  • Establish lab setups and lead quality assurance for customers.
  • Drive testing strategies, create detailed execution plans, document reports, and track commitments.
  • Motivate and mentor fellow engineers, owning end-to-end deliverables.
  • Should be able to craft automated scripts using agile processes and cutting-edge techniques.
  • Collaborate with PLM, Field/Sales Engineers, and Customers to analyze customer deployment architectures, network topologies, and test plans.
  • Work with Development Functional and System Test Teams to assess test coverage and gaps.
  • Participate in design and information gathering workshops with Technical Marketing Experts to comprehend market segment network designs and technical requirements for new network deployments.
  • Produce written reports detailing assigned project deliverables, including test progress, software defects, technical details, etc.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document software defects, then work with relevant Juniper engineering resources to resolve issues.
  • Engage with teams across geographical locations.
  • Support replicating customer-found issues and completing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Contribute to white papers, patents, and IETFs in related technical areas.
  • Provide proof-of-concept demonstrations to realize specific customer use case scenarios and showcase their feasibility.
  • Effectively communicate with the PLM, customer, account team, and other internal stakeholders regarding overall testing aspects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Internet Protocols: TCP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6
  • Domain Knowledge: Service Provider / Enterprise / Cloud
  • Networking Protocols: BGP, OSPF/ISIS, ARP, VLANS, MPLS, L3VPN, MC-LAG, LACP, L2VPN, VPLS, Multicast, NGMVPN, EVPN-VXLAN, etc.
  • Test Knowledge: Prepare Test Plans, Test Execution, Understanding Complex Customer Networks.
  • Automation: Experience in automating test cases, ability to debug automation failures, and narrow down software issues from test results and logs. Knowledge in Python / TCL / Go or any other scripting language.
  • Expertise in using networking test equipment like Spirent and Ixia, including automation.
  • Ability to adapt and work in fast-paced projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving customer issues.
  • A self-starter who can handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics / Computer Science or higher degree desired.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience as a test engineer in the networking domain with strong automation background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JNCIE or equivalent certification.
