Senior Backend Architect

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Architect who can lead our engineering team while actively coding and solving high-scale technical challenges. This is a founder's office role, working directly with the founder to design, build, and scale our messaging platforms.

  • Lead the design, development, and scaling of our SMS/WhatsApp API & campaign platforms.
  • Work hands-on in PHP/MySQL (current stack) while planning transition to microservices (Node.js/Go/Python).
  • Architect and manage high-performance APIs, distributed systems, and database optimization.
  • Ensure 99.9% uptime, security, and cost optimization of infrastructure.
  • Build and mentor a lean team (backend, frontend, QA).
  • Collaborate on roadmap, new features, and compliance (Meta, TRAI, RCS).
Key Qualifications
  • 6–8 years in backend/API-heavy systems.
  • Strong coding skills in PHP/MySQL, plus exposure to Node.js/Go/Python.
  • Experience with high-scale messaging, API security, queues, load balancing.
  • Prior startup/leadership experience preferred.
  • Someone who loves to code, architect, and lead (not just manage).
