Job Title: Technical Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical operations manager to join our team. As a technical operations manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of merchant vessels.

Your key responsibility will be to manage the technical performance of these vessels, adhering to international marine requirements.

Key Areas of Focus
  • Technical Management: Oversee the technical aspects of vessel operations, including maintenance, repair, and upkeep.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment Compliance: Ensure that all vessel operations are in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets for multiple vessels, ensuring that expenses are kept under control.
  • Human Capital Development: Develop and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including crew members, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications: A degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: At least three years of experience as a technical superintendent on merchant vessels or similar roles.
  • Skills: Demonstrated high-quality technical and managerial skills, with the ability to link resources to excellent service delivery and operational results.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in developing shipboard teams and managing budgetary responsibilities.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Organizational Skills: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with any stakeholder.
