Job Overview

The position is part of a state project management unit set up at the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihood Society (MSRLS) in Shillong to help increase adoption of the graduation approach/economic inclusion program. The goal is to target 4000 ultra-poor/households through community institutions.

The position will provide leadership and managerial support to the field team, mainly to the District and Block professionals. The candidate will ensure quality implementation on the ground through regular meetings and field visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop process and system for onboarding and capacity building of District and Block professionals
  • Develop process and system for regular monitoring and continuous feedback
  • Work closely with The/Nudge's financial unit to develop budgets and ensure timely and effective use of such budget
  • Support MSRLS in the research and development of a strategy and program design to target the ultra-poor through the graduation approach built on top of community institutions enabled by the NRLM
  • Support MSRLS in the implementation of action research of the graduation approach through a special project based on the strategy and design developed in consultation with key stakeholders
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has about 8-10 years of experience and is a Postgraduate. They must demonstrate a growth mindset, learning/improving constantly. Success in starting and leading initiatives, working under uncertainty & able to articulate vision and secure buy-in from stakeholders is also required.

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills are necessary, along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Collaboration with diverse stakeholder groups in a fast-paced environment is also essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in designing/managing multi-stakeholder development sector programs designed around (or with) SHGs, Community Institutions and MSRLS
  • An openness to travel extensively and live in designated districts/blocks/panchayats as per the needs of the program's goals
