Loan Risk Assessment and Compliance Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Risk Assessment and Compliance Expert to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying loan applications and supporting documentation.

  • Review and verify loan applications and support documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze loan risk and request additional information as necessary to mitigate potential losses.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies to minimize risk exposure.
  • Perform required analysis of property appraisal to ensure subject properties meet the company's appraisal criteria.
  • Determine and document loan conditions, communicate requirements, and/or decisions to stakeholders.
  • Identify portfolio risks resulting from client business practices and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Document and effectively communicate reasons for loan approval or rejection to clients and stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient loan processing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of recent US mortgage front-line underwriting experience in residential real estate.
  • Experience with compliance review, disclosures preparation, closing, doc preparation, and due diligence in the residential mortgage industry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mortgage guidelines and policies for VA, FHA, FNMA, FHLMC & USDA.
  • Experience analyzing and calculating qualifying income from various tax documents.
  • Experience analyzing credit reports.
