Senior Engineering Manager – Experience Design, Retail Consumer Products

This is a leadership opportunity to drive the vision and strategy for retail convenience consumer tech. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation through prototyping, testing, and final implementation.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of progressive experience in design, with at least 5 years in leadership or management roles. They should be able to inspire, mentor, and lead high-performing design teams to deliver exceptional user experiences and business impact across digital and physical touchpoints.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design Leadership: Define and execute the design vision and strategy for retail convenience consumer tech, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of UX/UI designers, researchers, and content professionals.
  • Design Excellence: Oversee the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation through prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, engineering, and business teams to deliver intuitive, scalable, and innovative design solutions.
  • User-Centric Innovation: Champion user research and data-driven design, ensuring products meet and exceed customer expectations in convenience retail environments.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce design best practices, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Design Expertise: Deep knowledge of UX/UI design, design systems, interaction design, and user research methodologies.
  • Retail/Consumer Tech: Understanding of retail convenience, consumer technology trends, and digital/physical customer journeys.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and lead high-performing design teams.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to address complex user and business challenges.
