As a seasoned professional, you will play a crucial role in underwriting mortgage business and managing the portfolio in assigned branches/locations.

  • Review and assess complex loan applications within defined guidelines, making informed decisions or recommending approval to higher authorities.
  • Underwrite proposals according to laid-down policies and procedures to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and manage city/area business volumes.
  • Conduct personal discussions with customers to establish credit worthiness and ensure completion of credit/KYC documents and verification through telephonic, field, and collateral visits.
  • Assess income to obligation ratios, loan to value ratios, and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of rational behind calculations and their impact on loan performance over long tenures.
  • Maintain Portfolio Management Information Systems (MIS), Delinquency MIS, and other operations-related MIS of the cluster, providing regular reports.
  • Build and leverage effective relationships with third parties to deliver best outcomes for clients.
  • Take ownership of client queries and utilize industry knowledge and experience to overcome challenges and solve problems.
  • Exceed service quality standards and strive for continuous process improvement.
  • Undertake critical review of credit proposals to identify industry, business, financial, management, and facility structure risks contained within.
  • Ensure collateral and other credit risk mitigation to facilitate approving authorities in taking decisions on credit proposals.
  • Enable quick turnaround times for credit lending proposals for mortgage business comprising loan against property and home loan business in close liaison with sales teams.
  • Undertake ongoing review of credit exposures to ensure that exposures continue to be bankable.
  • Facilitate critical review and documentation of proposals, effectively monitor client and collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phases, and undertake steps for risk mitigation whenever required while ensuring adherence to legal and documentation norms and policies.
  • Manage credit underwriting function of the branch and facilitate quick turnaround of credit lending proposals for the branch in close liaison with local credit analysts and sales teams.
  • Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases between 12-18 months.

Graduate degree with preference for Masters/Post Graduate qualifications.

Certifications such as CA/MBA are desirable.
