Learning and Development Manager

\

This role is responsible for leading the organization's strategic and operational Learning & Development function across multiple manufacturing locations in India.

\

Key Responsibilities

\
  • \
  • Develops and implements a pan-India L&D strategy aligned with business transformation and growth.\
  • Establishes and operationalizes Management Development Centres and Assessment Centres for leadership pipeline development.\
  • Drives organizational capability building across technical, behavioural, and leadership domains.\
  • Develops and executes succession planning frameworks and high-potential talent programs.\
  • Creates customized learning journeys for different employee segments (shop floor to senior leadership).\
  • Leads executive coaching, mentoring, and career pathing initiatives.\
  • Integrates digital learning platforms (LMS, LXPs, mobile learning) across locations.\
  • Promotes blended learning models including e-learning, workshops, simulations, and on-the-job training.\
  • Leverages AI and analytics for learning impact measurement and personalization.\
  • Collaborates with plant heads, functional leaders, and HRBPs to identify learning needs and deploy solutions.\
  • Acts as a change agent for cultural transformation and continuous learning.\
  • Manages external partnerships with universities, consultants, and tech providers.\
  • Defines and manages the L&D budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery and measurable ROI.\
  • Establishes KPIs for learning effectiveness and reports outcomes to senior leadership.\
  • Ensures compliance with statutory and industry-specific training mandates.\

Qualifications

  • Master's in Social Work or MBA/PGDM in HR or Organizational Development from a Tier 1/2 institute.\
  • Proven experience in setting up MDCs/Assessment Centers and leading capability building programs.\
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.\
  • Analytical mindset with ability to measure and communicate learning impact.\
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.\
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution capability.\
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and digital learning tools.\
  • Leadership experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector.\
  • 10–18 years of experience in L&D.\
  • Experience with digital learning platforms, AI, and analytics.\
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design.\
  • Understanding of the Indian education system and regulatory requirements.\
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
  • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering business value.\
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment.\
  • Ambitious and driven to achieve results.\
