ITOM Engineer

Role Summary:

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with strong technical and analytical skills. They should have experience in IT software development and be proficient in working with stakeholders to analyze and review business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and configure business requirements on the ServiceNow platform, focusing on IT service management, configuration management, change and service desk management, discovery, service maps, event/alert management, asset management, performance analytics, AIOps and predictive intelligence.
  • Capture requirements from stakeholders and SMEs through demonstrations and workshops.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for the development of user stories, configurations and timely delivery.
  • Configure modules, develop custom solutions as required through scripting and software development.
  • Prepare high-level and low-level design documents, architecture designs and technical documentation as specified.
  • Work with the platform team to update technology direction and strategy, manage business-as-usual tasks and provide value-based assessments and workshops.

Profile Description:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in IT software development, custom app development and ServiceNow implementations.
  • Hands-on developer experience in scripting, unit testing of NOW platform features, system integrations and REST/SOAP protocols.
  • Expert knowledge on configuring configuration management database, change and service desk management model, discovery, service mappings, event, alert and incident management rules.
  • Deep understanding of REST, WSDL, JSON and ability to integrate with third-party applications and data sources.
  • Manages configuration management database & asset foundation data tables, import sets and update sets.
  • Expertise in configuring UI actions/UI policy ACL, Angular based client-side & server-side scripts, business rules, glide scripting, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS and JSON web technologies.
  • Experience with performance analytics, predictive intelligence and designing KPI-driven reporting & dashboards.
  • Develops and manages application code, user interfaces and integration components.

Desired Credentials/Knowledge:

  • CIS-ITOM, CIS-Discovery, CIS-CMDB and CIS-Event/CSA certifications.
  • NOW Platform Development & Implementation expertise.
  • ITIL Certification (optional).
