Key Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Provides guidance and support to develop workforce plans, forecasts departmental requirements and ensures effective implementation of work processes.
  • Manages operating frameworks, provides guidance, and ensures review of work processes to achieve high performance standards and continuous improvement.
  • Drives the strategy and execution of SME businesses in the region to meet set targets.
  • Presents yearly Business development plans aligned with the bank's strategy for SME clients in the region.
  • Achieves target sets in yearly budgets for new and existing clients and manages budget and financials related to these targets.
  • Articulates region-specific strategies for the growth of various products offered by the organization and liaises with the Product Development Team.
  • Manages teams including career management, coaching, and mentoring critical talent within the team.
  • Formulates recruitment and resourcing strategies (e.g., location strategies).
  • Reviews and coordinates quality principles and processes.
  • Sponsors and ensures quality standards are met in management initiatives in the region.
  • Ensures stringent fraud control policies are in place.
  • Ensures minimal NPAs in the region.
  • Develops a continuous talent pipeline for key roles within the department and provides mentoring for high-potential talent within the team.
  • Monitors and enables achievement of goals and key performance indicators for direct reports and ensures effective implementation of the performance management process within the department.
  • Develops talent within the department by providing guidance, ongoing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to individuals to enable achievement of defined goals.
Main Interactions:
  • Ensures implementation of risk-related policies and processes for the department, meeting regulatory and internal control requirements.
  • Reviews implementation of internal control systems in line with relevant operating procedures and regulatory requirements, taking corrective action based on audit findings.
