The team responsible for the database platform provides a secure, self-service, and cost-effective platform for various technologies.
To ensure this offering, the team follows a 24x7 follow-the-sun organization model with collaborators in multiple regions.
As a Database Administrator, you will assist the database operations team in implementing, configuring, securing, maintaining, and performance tuning/monitoring of the database tier.
The focus is on ensuring availability and performance of enterprise applications using Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, Mongo, Couchbase, and other emerging database technologies.
You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and high-performing applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, document, allocate, install, and configure database servers with emphasis on high availability and fault tolerance.
- Design, build, maintain database monitoring solutions for hundreds of databases across data platforms.
- Manage databases through phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from development to production systems.
- Create standards, procedures, and policies for governing database environments.
- Provide escalation support, troubleshooting, and resolution assistance for the platform and operational database teams.
About the Ideal Candidate:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business is required. 8+ years of experience managing Microsoft SQL Server database technologies is preferred, along with certification in one or more database platforms.
Experience working with Azure, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, and/or Couchbase is a plus. Collaboration skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and storage technologies are also essential.
Languages: Fluent in English is required. Other industry certifications such as SAFe or ITIL are a plus.
