Job Description

Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of operations specialists to process new business and end-to-end policy servicing for group business.

Context:

The role holder will work within the operations department, focusing on group new business and policy servicing, to provide exceptional customer service.

Main Priorities:

  • Coordinate with sales and actuarial teams to close individual group processes.
  • Ensure the efficient issuance of policies and resolution of customer and intermediary queries.
  • Provide an exceptional, professional, and courteous service to intermediaries and customers.
  • Comply with established company procedures in a consistent manner and contribute to introducing improvements whenever possible.
  • Implement and maintain agreed quality and quantity controls to aid proactive management and the anticipation of problems.
  • Supervise and train an effective team that meets the business needs of the company as it grows over time.
  • Coordinate with finance for reconciliation of policy account balances.
  • Lead the transformation and digitization of group business.
Required Skills and Qualifications

MBA/ACII degree with a minimum of 8-10 years' experience gained in customer services or operations departments. Associate of Insurance Institute is an added advantage.

Key Requirements

Good experience of operations in the financial services industry.

Experience within the group operations department of an insurance company is mandatory.

Experience in data processing to deliver operational efficiency.

Strong computer skills, including databases and office management software, such as word processors and spreadsheets.

Effective leadership, team building, and influencing skills.
