Customer Service Operations Associate

This role is ideal for a customer-focused individual who can handle ocean freight operations and provide exceptional service to clients.

About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Customer Service Operations Associate to join our team. As the primary point of contact for customers, you will be responsible for providing timely updates on shipment status, addressing queries, and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  1. Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding ocean freight shipments.
  2. Provide timely updates on shipment status, address queries, and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  3. Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
  4. Coordinate with customers to understand their shipping requirements and offer tailored solutions.
  5. Handle end-to-end operational activities for ocean freight shipments, including booking, documentation, and coordination with carriers, customs, and other stakeholders.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customs clearance, and company policies.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams (sales, last-mile delivery, etc.) to ensure seamless execution.
  8. Identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  9. Implement best practices in ocean freight operations and client servicing.
  10. Prepare and verify shipping documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
  11. Maintain accurate records of shipments, customer communications, and operational data.
  12. Generate reports on key operational metrics, shipment statuses, and customer feedback.
  13. Handle escalations related to shipment issues and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
  14. Provide insights and recommendations to prevent recurring operational issues.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ocean freight operations and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
