About the Role
The ideal candidate for this position will lead a team of Senior Data Engineers, propose architectures, solve complex situations, and interact directly with clients for requirement gathering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review data architecture
- Solve intricate data models and situations
- Oversee a team of 4-5 Senior Engineers
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements
- Create a comprehensive roadmap, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies
Requirements:
- More than 10 years of experience in software development and data structures/algorithms with a focus on backend and data engineering
- At least 4 years of experience leading teams
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting with production experience
- Experience building cloud-native data-intensive applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with data warehouse design and development using modern data warehouses
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining Spark applications
- Fundamental understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other Object-Store Format (OTF) file formats
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation
- Experience with observability systems like Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Strong experience building CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins
- Experience with unit testing and test automation frameworks
Soft Skills:
- Able to provide constructive feedback during code reviews
- Capable of providing high-quality readable business documentation
- Able to prioritize business value over engineering interest
- Pro-active and service-oriented towards internal customers
