Senior Sales Specialist Cyber Security Job Description

Making a lasting impact in the field of cybersecurity is a challenging yet rewarding career goal. As a Senior Sales Specialist in this field, you will have the opportunity to work with clients at various levels, developing and maintaining relationships that are crucial to driving sales success.

The primary purpose of this role is to identify new opportunities within existing accounts and present tailored solutions that meet the client's specific needs. This requires advanced knowledge of security principles, concepts, and technologies, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and cybersecurity best practices.

Key responsibilities include owning and driving pipeline to achieve allocated sales targets, maintaining subject matter expertise in security technology domains, and supporting the closure of sales based on technical consultation and guidance provided to customers.

Additionally, you will be expected to articulate the client's business needs and depth of knowledge on security solutions to personalize recommended solutions. Collaborative work with sales teams, particularly Client Managers, is essential in successfully closing deals.

  • Develops and implements account plans to provide regular check-ins with primary points of contact and establish processes for getting buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Uses sales methodologies and tools such as target plans, opportunity plans, and account plans to drive the sales process.

Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Advanced understanding of security principles, concepts, and technologies, including knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Technical consultation and guidance to customers on security solutions.
  • Success in achieving and exceeding sales and financial goals.
  • Proficiency in developing and encouraging meaningful customer relationships up to C-level.
  • Ability to deliver engaging sales presentations and elevator pitches.
  • Closely maintains accurate sales forecast and close plans.
  • Team selling approach.
  • Competitive landscape analysis and application of successful sales strategies.
  • Client-centric approach with ability to understand customer problems and find best-fit solutions.
  • Adaptable to short, new missions or urgent deadlines.
  • Negotiation capabilities to craft beneficial solutions for customers, partners, and organization overall.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Technical or Sales field or related is preferred.
  • Certified in industry relevant structured sales methodologies and negotiation skills.
  • Preferred certifications (but not limited to) CISSP, CompTIA Security+, GISF.

Required Experience:

  • Advanced sales experience in a technology or services environment, particularly selling security solutions.
  • Experience of IT Managed Services environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of solution-based selling with a proven track record of sales over-achievement.
  • Experience in selling complex security solutions and services to C-Level clients.
  • Experience in resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways to meet targets and objectives.
