Job Opportunity: Trainee Cost Manager

This role involves working closely with senior quantity surveyors to evaluate contractor claims, variations, and valuations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents for construction projects.
  • Supporting in analyzing project costs, budgets, and schedules to ensure alignment with client requirements.
  • Conducting on-site measurements and inspections to verify progress and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborating with senior quantity surveyors to evaluate contractor claims, variations, and valuations.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is in place, especially with respect to Drawing Register Maintenance.

As a Trainee Cost Manager, you will have an opportunity to work on various projects and develop your skills quickly. You should have excellent verbal and written English communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of construction drawings and drawing plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify that the drawing layers, scales, and dimensions are appropriately defined.
  • Understand the scope of work by reviewing floor plans, sections, and elevations.
  • Identify the elements to be measured, such as walls, slabs, columns, and beams.
  • Turn on/off relevant layers to isolate specific components for measurement.
  • Utilize the MEASUREGEOM command to calculate lengths, areas, and volumes.

Requirements:

  • Education - B.E/B.Tech- Civil/ Mechanical / Electrical
  • 0-1 year of work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
