We are seeking a skilled System Reliability Engineer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the SRE function and be part of a dynamic team.

This position provides the chance to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry and contribute to the development of methodologies and strategies for identification of toil-heavy and inefficient processes, and for the automation and elimination of toil, delay, and redundancy in such processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Strategies: Help define, drive, and implement the SRE strategy to promote an "Automate-first" culture in operating services.
  • Process Optimization: Develop methodologies and strategies for identification of toil-heavy and inefficient processes, and for the automation and elimination of toil, delay, and redundancy in such processes.
  • Engineering and Operational Service Metrics: Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery.
  • Service Level Objectives: Work with all parties to develop and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services.
  • Monitoring Strategy: Define monitoring strategy and implement appropriate capabilities to design and implement reliability improvements.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and perform chaos engineering exercises to lead architectural reviews for reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement from incidents and contribute to the Test and Deployment processes to ensure they are as reliable and automated as possible.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • SRE Practitioner: Hands-on SRE practitioner with 5+ years working experience in SRE roles.
  • Service Level Objectives: Practical experience defining and implementing Service Level Objectives, and operating to Error Budgets.
  • Monitoring Technologies: Experience in implementing and operating monitoring and observability technologies for wide range of enterprise-grade production systems.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Experience in corporate software development lifecycle methodology, with some experience implementing GitOps a plus.
  • Technical Systems: Demonstrates strong understanding of how technical systems work and interact.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of all critical Production Support processes.
  • Cloud Platforms: 2+ years of experience with one/more public/private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.).

Desirable Knowledge:

  • SRE Principles: Comprehensive understanding of SRE principles and ability to evangelise.
  • Observability Tooling: Working knowledge of modern observability tooling, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and associated projects.
  • IaC Principles: Experience of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and design.
  • Configuration Management Solutions: Extensive knowledge of Configuration Management Solutions such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
