As a seasoned Research Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the frontiers of drug discovery. Your expertise in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry will be instrumental in designing and executing synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for research programs.

To excel in this position, you will need to possess a solid understanding of multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation. Proficiency in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation) is also essential.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, with 0-4 years of hands-on experience in working on a bench, preferably in an industry. Postdoctoral experience in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for research programs
  • Tracking SAR and optimizing potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research programs
  • Performing purification and structural characterization of compounds
  • Troubleshooting synthetic problems and optimizing reaction conditions
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate lab records and contributing to technical reports
  • Collaborating with analytical teams as needed
