Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee all operations at our ship construction site. This is a group with more than 100 years of engineering and project-oriented experience across various sectors.

  • Manage and oversee all site operations: shipbuilding, repair, engineering, outfitting, trials, and commissioning.
  • Mentor department heads across core functions (engineering, outfitting, electrical, hull, commissioning, dock operations).
  • Plan, execute, and monitor shipbuilding and repair projects from start to finish, achieving set milestones and deadlines.
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure effective use of resources, materials, and manpower.
  • Drive compliance with safety and environmental regulations, conducting audits and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain strict financial controls, track site expenditures, and apply cost-saving measures.
  • Uphold quality standards throughout all processes, resolving issues promptly to reduce rework.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing process enhancements.
Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, marine, industrial engineering or similar field; master's degree or certifications are an advantage.
  • At least 15-20 years' experience in shipbuilding or engineering project management, with 5+ years at a senior management level.
  • Proven track record leading large, complex engineering operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of shipyard processes (fabrication, fitting, outfitting, commissioning).
  • Excellent skills in project management, team leadership, quality assurance, and financial oversight.
  • Familiarity with ERP/project management software and MS Office.
