Job Title:

Senior Cost Estimator

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver detailed cost estimates for capital projects.
  • Advise on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements to optimize project outcomes.
  • Draft contract packages and provide guidance on amendments to standard forms.
  • Develop pricing documents for tender packages and negotiate with contractors.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of tender submissions and manage the negotiation process.
  • Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variations and determine valid claims.
  • Contribute to the development of monthly cost reports and ensure their accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree in a field such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of cost management processes and ability to interpret drawings for quantification.
  • Chartered status under a recognized organization, such as RICS, SCSI, AIQS, or NZIQS.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong IT literacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to collaborate with international teams and adapt to diverse cultural contexts.
