Procurement Strategist Role

The Procurement Strategist plays a pivotal role in shaping our procurement operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and Implementing Procurement Strategies: Identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities, select suitable vendors, negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and analyze market trends to inform sourcing decisions.
  • End-to-End Procurement Operations: Oversee the entire procurement process, from vendor selection to contract management, ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Market Analysis and Sourcing Opportunities: Analyze competitor activities and identify potential sourcing opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering high performance and professional development, while promoting collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Procurement Documentation and Approval: Review and approve purchase orders, supplier agreements, and other procurement-related documentation.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance, implement corrective measures to improve quality, delivery timelines, and service levels, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Procurement Budget Management: Manage procurement budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and present regular reports to senior management.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce procurement costs through continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements:

  • At least 8 to 12 years of experience in procurement, with 3–4 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
  • Proven track record of cost optimization and successful negotiations.
  • Experience in ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
