Senior Associate, Federal Tax Advisory

Job Overview:

This senior role focuses on delivering comprehensive tax advisory services to clients. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for client onboarding, reviewing and preparing complex federal, state, and local tax returns. You will also collaborate with engagement teams to identify and research client issues, and draft technical tax memoranda and analysis reports.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Onboarding: Review prior year data, analyze PBC requests, and budgeting
  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations and partnerships
  • Collaborate with engagement team to identify and research complex client issues and recommend solutions
  • Draft technical tax memoranda and analysis reports
  • Assist in project management of compliance and consulting engagements
  • Quality control on work-product delivery
  • Document procedures for all types of work
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax preparation and tax accounting processes
  • Supervise, train and mentor junior staff, associates and interns

Requirements:
  • 6-8 years of corporate and partnership income tax compliance experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business or related field
  • Exposure and hands-on experience on the whole cycle of income tax compliance (PBC Request / Data Review / Workpapers / Return Preparation / Review / Delivery)
  • Proficient use of Excel and technologies (OneSource Income Tax experience is a plus)
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers and clients
  • Ability to collaborate with leads and other team members
  • Demonstrate ability to obtain technical expertise in managed field
  • Ability to solve problems and make educated decisions
  • Prior experience in handling a team and delivering formal feedback
