Job Title: Tax Manager

About This Role:

This role involves overseeing tax compliance and consulting for clients. The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all tax filings are accurate and timely, as well as providing strategic advice on tax planning and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of tax professionals to ensure effective delivery of tax services;
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize client liability;
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns and supporting documentation;
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations;
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities;
  • Maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders;
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of tax software and systems;
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless service delivery;
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as needed;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance;
  • 3-4 years of experience in State and Local Tax compliance and consulting;
  • Strong understanding of state income/franchise tax laws, sales and use tax, and other SALT-related areas;
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing multistate tax returns and supporting documentation;
  • Familiarity with nexus studies, apportionment analysis, state adjustments, and state tax research;
  • Understanding of federal Forms (an added advantage);
  • EA or CPA certification preferred, or actively working toward certification;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in tax filings and work papers;
  • Ability to monitor and interpret state legislative changes and apply them to client situations;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Clear and professional communication skills for both internal collaboration and client interaction;
  • Eagerness to grow within the SALT function and contribute to a dynamic, deadline-driven team;
  • Experience in Tax software like Go System, One Source, Drake, CCH Axcess, and QuickBooks.
