Dam Monitoring Specialist Role

The Dam Monitoring Specialist will provide oversight of dam monitoring, instrumentation, and surveillance systems. Key objectives include:

  • Closely coordinating and implementing comprehensive dam monitoring plans with precise technical specifications.
  • Fully reviewing and refining monitoring action plans in template formats.
  • Providing technical support for the establishment of centralized control centers.
  • Overseeing data collection, transmission, processing, and analysis processes.
  • Ensuring the operational efficiency of established monitoring systems.
  • Effectively managing hardware, software, and data transmission requirements for all monitoring plans.
  • Preparing detailed documentation including bill of quantities and technical specifications.
  • Defining qualifying criteria for monitoring systems.
  • Conducting rigorous inspections and managing transmittals.
  • Facilitating tailored training programs for project staff.
  • Contributing to the revision of guidelines and formulation of new best practices related to monitoring and surveillance.
  • Providing inputs for national databases and management systems.
  • Supporting development of expertise at academic institutions.
  • Developing customized training calendars and conducting need-based inspections of dams.
