Credit Management Specialist
Job Overview:
Lead and direct the credit management function to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables, minimize bad debts, and maintain healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce credit control policies, procedures, and credit limits to mitigate risk.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness through financial analysis, credit scoring, and risk assessments to make informed decisions.
- Approve or recommend credit limits and payment terms based on thorough evaluation of customer creditworthiness.
- Monitor accounts receivable ledger to identify and address any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Review and reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Ensure efficient allocation of receipts and prompt resolution of any disputes or issues.
- Direct and manage collections team to effectively follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve disputes in a professional manner.
- Maintain regular communication with key customers to secure payments and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly reports on receivables, aging, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), bad debt provisions, and collection efficiency to senior management.
- Highlight high-risk accounts and overdue balances to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, and Customer Service teams to resolve credit-related issues and support customer relationships.
- Communicate effectively with external credit rating agencies and legal advisors as required.
- Manage, train, and motivate the credit control team to achieve high levels of performance and productivity.
- Establish and review team performance KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to company credit policies and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Support internal and external audit processes as necessary.
Requirements:
- 4-7 years of experience in credit management or a related field.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
