Electrical Project Manager

Job Overview

This role is focused on electrical discipline design, procurement and project management of industrial projects from various sectors such as chemical, food & beverages, pharma, seed processing, mineral processing, oil & gas etc.

Experience and knowledge of food & beverages, healthcare & hospitality sector shall be an added advantage.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and clarity on accurate application and compliances on various applicable codes such as IS, IEC, IEEE, NFPA standards.

We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated professional with zeal to develop their skills in synchronization with organization growth and put sincere efforts in developing new skills to enhance performance in electrical system design, procurement and installation of complete industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical design, tender packages and execution of on-site works as per the project requirement, from EB tapping point to the end-user plug point, complete electrical system with international standard safety controls.
2. Load list development, HT/LT distribution, bus-bar calculation, SLDs, cable sizing, cable & cable termination scheduling, cable routing, cable tray layout, key plan, electrical equipment layout, grounding/earthing layout, lightning protection system design, power & lighting layout, low-voltage system, data and telephone, building management system, fire detection and alarm system etc.
3. Design of electrical control panels, MCC, PCC, DB etc. to the general arrangement level to frame the procurement specifications and basic drawings.
4. Developing and compiling bill of material and technical specifications etc. for package tender.
5. Review and verification of multidisciplinary drawings, reports & documents and identify clashes/gaps/variations if any and suggest/implement possible remedies to the variations.
6. Collection of input from other disciplines/functions such as architectural, civil & structural, PEB, mechanical, fire fighting & detection, instrumentation and incorporation of relevant inputs to the drawings in order to have detailed drawings.
7. Compilation of tender document.
8. Conduct pre-qualification checks for the identified potential bidders.
9. Float tender and lead the tender process as a key tender committee member.
10. Technical bid evaluation, organization and lead of pre & post-bid meetings and giving appropriate rating to the bidders based on quality, completeness and compliances of the bids received.
11. Review and approval of submittals received from the contractor, resolution of queries received from the project site team/contractors.
12. Coordination with multiple agencies on project sites and alignment of them to achieve the desired seamless execution within targeted timelines.
13. Development of project schedule and tracking of progress on weekly and monthly basis. Identification of possible delays proactively and suggestion of corrective actions in advance.
14. Development of Quality Assurance Plan for the project and definition of implementation strategy and procedure.
15. Work on delay recovery plan and its implementation on site by relevant agencies involved.
16. Close check on the material receipt and quality of work being executed on site and maintenance of records as a part of QA-QC procedures.
17. Tracking and control on the project timeline, quality, cost, changes/variations and maintenance of Management of Change procedures for the project.
18. Check and certification of contractually acceptable quantities executed by the contractor for invoicing.
19. Proactive sharing of observations to the execution contractor to avoid rework and destructions in work execution. Depending upon non-compliance cases, issue NCs and get the thing corrected as per contractually agreed specifications and terms.
20. Organization/attendance of stage review/project progress review meeting at predefined frequency and keeping posted with the project progress, challenges, possible remedies etc.
21. Review of the on-site project progress and quality compliances, addressing concerns if any, from project contractors and resolving site-level challenges if any.
22. Visits to other sites (across India/outside India) to collect site measurements and development of As-built drawings with the support team as per the project requirement.
23. Active involvement in proposal development and derivation of project cost for proposal preparation and identification and incorporation of critical terms and conditions safeguarding the project in unforeseen project conditions.
24. Lead and spread positivity in handling every challenging situation and project demands.
25. Attendance of various training programs, seminars and promotional events to upgrade knowledge on new software, technology, materials, procedures and techniques being used/can be used in improving the safety, quality, workmanship and time consumption in any project.
26. Willingness to upgrade their skills to the next level and improve continuously in order to take next-level responsibility and become an active team member of the organization.
27. Willingness to be an active member of Safety Committee as decided by QHS head and play an active role in ERT.
28. Spread of positivity and demonstration of leadership in their work profile and willingness to grow themselves in multi-direction.
29. Openness to travel/stay within/outside India as per company demand.
