We are seeking an experienced airfield engineer to join our team as a Senior Aviation Engineering Specialist. This is a critical role in the growth and development of our aviation team.
- As the design lead for airfield civil engineering projects, you will be responsible for delivering projects through various stages of design from feasibility studies to detailed design and construction.
- You will take ownership of the successful delivery of projects, providing leadership and direction to junior team members.
- Leading technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications related to airfield engineering projects.
- Undertaking technical design reviews to meet quality management requirements.
- Actively participating in the design process, providing technical input, and communicating with team members and clients.
- Identifying and managing design risks, issues, and RFIs.
- Supporting project managers in project progress monitoring and developing project controls.
- Implementing technical quality requirements, addressing project briefs, and meeting client deadlines.
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure design at airports.
- Experience working on large, complex airport projects from concept to detailed design and construction support.
- Managing engineering professionals in delivering technical aviation projects.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Competent self-leadership, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- International airfield design standards knowledge (ICAO and FAA).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant airfield engineering design software packages.
- Microsoft Office programs proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Chartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT) or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of construction contracts such as NEC 4.
