As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of quality materials, equipment, and services at competitive costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement & Vendor Management:
    • Develop and implement procurement policies and strategies to optimize cost and quality.
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers/vendors to strengthen relationships and improve efficiency.
    • Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Material Planning & Cost Control:
    • Plan and forecast material requirements in line with project and production schedules to ensure seamless operations.
    • Ensure timely procurement to avoid delays in manufacturing and project delivery by implementing efficient supply chain management.
    • Monitor purchase budgets and work towards cost reduction without compromising quality through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
  • Process & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and quality certifications to maintain a strong reputation.
    • Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and contracts to facilitate smooth operations and minimize errors.
    • Implement ERP/software tools for purchase tracking and reporting to enhance transparency and accountability.
  • Team Collaboration & Coordination:
    • Coordinate with Design, Production, and Project teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment.
    • Work with Finance to ensure timely payments and cost monitoring through regular communication and transparent budgeting.
    • Collaborate with Stores/Inventory team for stock optimization and inventory management to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Provide periodic reports on procurement performance, vendor ratings, and cost savings to stakeholders.
    • Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and suggest strategies accordingly to stay ahead of competition.
Requirements:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to build trust and drive results.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability to identify solutions and implement improvements.
  • Knowledge of engineering/manufacturing components and suppliers to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP, and procurement tools to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities to motivate and direct teams effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce (MBA preferred) to provide a solid foundation in business principles and practices.
  • 7–12 years of experience in procurement, preferably in engineering or manufacturing industries, to develop expertise and gain insights.
  • Proven track record in vendor development, cost control, and purchase strategy to demonstrate success and achieve goals.
