Procurement Specialist

Siemens Energy's goal is to provide expertise in large-scale power plant projects.

This involves ensuring timely procurement support for engineering, project management, and site execution teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for critical mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Forecast material and equipment requirements based on project schedules, engineering inputs, and construction milestones.
  • Optimize costs through competitive bidding, supplier development, and alternate sourcing.

Supplier & Contract Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for boilers, turbines, pressure parts, piping systems, rotating equipment, and balance-of-plant mechanical packages.
  • Negotiate techno-commercial terms, long-term supply agreements, and service contracts.
  • Build and sustain strong supplier relationships ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and delivery standards.

Project Execution Support:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely procurement support.
  • Monitor supplier performance, expedite deliveries, and resolve contractual disputes/claims.
  • Oversee logistics, heavy-lift transportation, and customs clearance for large mechanical equipment.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and contractual commitments.
  • Enforce transparent and ethical procurement practices.
  • Manage supply chain risk and ensure business continuity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical procurement in EPC power plant projects (biomass, WHR, biogas, coal).
- Expertise in turbine generators, boilers, pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, balance-of-plant items.
- Familiarity with electrical and instrumentation procurement packages (MCCs, VFDs, control systems, field instruments) to support project integration.
- Proven track record in international procurement, incoterms, import/export procedures, and logistics.
- Strong negotiation, vendor development, and cost-control abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
- ERP proficiency (SAP/Oracle or equivalent) with strong analytical and reporting skills.
