Overview

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

The Associate Technical Support Engineer plays a critical role in providing world-class support to Rocket's customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with questions and problems regarding Rocket Software products' installation, setup, configuration, and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot reported symptoms to aid in the resolution process directly for the customer or help guide the development team in providing permanent solutions.
  • Work as part of a team with limited direction to provide Level 2 customer support primarily for Rocket's iCluster products.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of technical engineering support experience.
  • Advanced-level technical skills and an understanding of workflow processes.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • A minimum of five years of IBM System i experience, including IBMi 7.3 and later, and development tools such as SQL.
  • Knowledge of Journaling (local and remote) and ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP communications, DDM communication, CL programming, security changes, IBM job scheduler, and job trace.
