API Sourcing Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) on behalf of our clients. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to secure high-quality, cost-effective materials.

  • Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and qualify API suppliers globally in alignment with client requirements.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Procurement Process Management: Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including request for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders, and supply contracts.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to quality, delivery, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams (quality assurance, regulatory, and supply chain) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Track market trends, supply risks, and alternative sourcing options to maintain a reliable supply base.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers to foster trust and partnership.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in API sourcing, procurement, or supplier management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements for API sourcing.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
