Job Title

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Intellectual Property Manager to join our organization. The successful candidate will lead a team of IP professionals in a dynamic environment and deliver results-driven outcomes.

The position will work on a wide range of intellectual property matters, including patent drafting and prosecution, licensing, litigation support, and due diligence. The incumbent should have a strong background in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sciences, with a minimum of 13 years of experience in a reputable global pharmaceutical company.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a deadline-dictated environment. They should also possess fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the growing IP portfolio of the organization.
  • Enforce IP processes to ensure the optimal and timely protection of intellectual property and third-party partner interests.
  • Work closely with the Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams to identify products for development, devise product development strategies, and provide guidance on patentability.
  • Draft patents, freedom-to-operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • File and prosecute inventive solutions to build significant wealth of intellectual property.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications.
  • Provide IP-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations.
  • Partner with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy in connection with M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activities.
  • Manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues.
Requirements
  • PhD or postgraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Desirable to have an additional specialization in Intellectual Property.
  • Minimum 13+ years of experience in a reputable global pharmaceutical company with team handling skills.
  • Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting and prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization.
  • Litigation, litigation support, and licensing experience are most desired.
