The company serves as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence, providing support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations, etc., to MUFG Bank offices globally.
About the Role:
Position Title: Trade Finance Operations Head
Corporate Title: Vice President / Director
Reporting to: Managing Director

Job Profile
Purpose of Role:
The Trade Finance Operations Head will be responsible for running operations through various teams, focusing on migrating Loans and Guarantees processes from MUFG offices in various regions to MUFG Global Service (MGS) - Global Capability Center (GCC).
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinating well with global stakeholders to execute bank's strategic initiatives
- Drive Operations agenda, industry-wide initiatives particularly those related to Trade Finance standards
- Ensure highest levels of accuracy by the team in transaction processing and ensure minimal client impact and/or operational incidents
- Drive process automation and reengineering to cut costs and enhance customer experience
- Provides excellent customer service to uphold the reputation of the division and satisfy customers
- Improve customer experience by collaborating with business, product, and regional branch operations
- Establish SMART goals for the division and make sure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and performance standards
- Ensure that all transactions falling within the Operations unit's purview are processed promptly, accurately, and in compliance with established protocols
- Establish a robust Risk and Control framework
- Collaborate with Audit stakeholders and ensure the unit is operating within the risk appetite
- Keep up to date on market developments, products, and pertinent rules and regulations
- Verify that sanctions policy rules are carefully followed and that QA results are at the acceptable levels
- Lead the unit to develop a proactive risk culture; and ensuring that the Group Values and Code of Conduct are properly followed
- Verify that all required training is completed in compliance with bank policy
- Participate in industry forums and represent MUFG / MGS as required
Candidate Profile:
Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid working capital product expertise, particularly in Commercial and Corporate Business Trade Finance operations, Trade Loans, Structure Finance and Supply Chain Finance processes
- In-depth knowledge in Trade Finance standards, Commodity Trade, Open Account and Trade Loans, Trade Asset Management, regulatory guidelines are mandatory
- In-depth knowledge in SWIFT, CHIPS, CHAPS, SEPA and all other payment types / methodologies are mandatory
- Experience leading sizable teams- Regularly exemplifies precise written and vocal communication
- Ability to think critically and pay close attention to detail. Verbal communication skills that allow for effective cross-cultural connections
- Should be able to drive change by influencing the stakeholders
- Trusted advisor with strong interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently
Estimated Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is ₹15000 - ₹20000 per month, based on the location and job requirements.
