Job Title: Estimator - Built Environment

The primary function of this role is to accurately predict and prepare detailed cost estimates for Civil / Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.

  • Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents provided by the client and consultants.
  • Identify project requirements, including materials, equipment, labor, and other resources necessary for project cost.
  • Familiarize oneself with applicable international codes and standards.
  • Maintain compliance and quality by ensuring all cost estimates align with these standards.
  • Use appropriate measurement methods to accurately assess quantities.
  • Proficiency in working with AutoCAD, MS Excel, and related software is essential.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation software(e.g., CostX) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of proven experience in Quantity Surveying, out of that a minimum of 2 years of technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy.
  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills.
  • Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
