Ship Design Expert

We are seeking an experienced Ship Design Expert to join our team of professionals in the field of naval architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse container ship operations data to inform the development of digital twin models, using machine learning algorithms and simulation tools.
  • Conceptualise and build Digital Twin models that include fuel performance curves, vessel hydrodynamic stability, and safety thresholds at bad weather conditions.
  • Model the effect of various parameters on fuel consumption, including windage, vessel speed, drift, trim, heel, hull condition, propeller condition, engine condition, waves impact, wind impact, and currents impact.
  • Build tactical solutions for avoiding parametric and synchronous rolling, including alert systems and recommendations.
  • Develop AI/ML solutions that can recommend vessel speed, overconsumption alerts, and fouling margin.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in naval architecture, with expertise in ship design, vessel digital twin, and fuel performance curves.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in conceptualising and building container vessel fuel consumption curves and other ship hydrodynamic performance models.
  • Hands-on experience in building or running solutions like Vessel Digital Twin and Vessel Hydrodynamic Simulation.
  • Excellent appreciation and/or experience of data science subjects, including simulation, optimisation, and machine learning models.
  • Strong consulting skills, including leadership in uncertain and ambiguous situations, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting.
  • Excellent communication skills, including spoken, written, and client-facing abilities.
