UK Payroll Operations Manager

Your candidacy is currently being considered for a requisition for an Alight Inc group company. As you may be aware, Alight has announced its intention to divest its Payroll & Professional Services business to HIG Capital. After the transaction closes, this position will be aligned to the new Payroll & Professional Services owned by HIG Capital ('Divested Group'). By applying for this position, which will be with the Divested Group company, you understand and agree to the information you submitted for your application with Alight being shared with the Divested Group company. In addition, if you are made an offer of employment, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check consistent with the Divested Group company employment policies.
The Role and Responsibilities- To process UK payrolls and HRIS tasks/activities by meeting the specified obligations such as TAT and accuracy levels.
- To provide an effective and efficient UK payroll and/or HRIS service to customers, ensuring the accurate and timely payment of their employees' salaries.
- To respond to requests, queries, and complaints from external customers in a friendly and efficient manner to enhance customer loyalty.
- To proactively seek learning opportunities to develop and maintain good knowledge of Alight Solutions' systems, clients, and workflow and processing procedures.
- To take an active part in promoting your own training and development in all areas.
- To own and manage the quality and accuracy of operational tasks of the team.
- To support and help facilitate 100% SLA attainment for the team through effective WFM.
- To act as a single point of contact (SPOC) to clients (internal and external).
- To be the innovation champion for the process and team.
- Responsible for processing and meeting targets given for the same.
- Responsible for second-level verification of data if required.
- Providing feedback on quality issues found during audits.
- Responsible for timely escalation of production-related issues.
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy and prioritizing daily tasks to meet SLA.
- To build and nurture constructive relationships with the onshore team and internal colleagues from other business areas and contribute to team efforts, team meetings, etc.
- To ensure that team members receive the required data, in the right format, and on time to complete payrolls to agreed deadlines.
- To calculate, prepare, and transmit manual payments and third-party disbursements.
- To coach and advise team members on systems and PC usage.
- To suggest ways to improve systems and procedures to enhance the business.
- To update process-related reports and documents.
- To ensure ISMS compliance of the team.
- To adhere to company policies, rules, and regulations.
- To follow quality processes thoroughly - checklists, standards, etc. on process.
- To adhere to work timings and leave schedules.
- 2-5 years' experience in UK Payroll.
- PC literacy - Word and Excel (basic level).
- Graduate from any stream or diploma holder.
- Good technical knowledge of UK payroll and UK payroll systems.
- A track record of face-to-face, telephone, and written contact with customers.
