Supply Chain Management Professional

Position Description:

The Plant Supply Chain Manager role is a critical function within the factory's operations. This position oversees end-to-end supply chain activities, including production planning and control, plant sourcing, warehousing, logistics, and scrap management.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • • Align material availability with production plans to ensure zero downtime.
  • • Collaborate with production, sales, and central planning teams for demand forecasting and capacity planning.
  • • Monitor daily and weekly production plans and adjust schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • • Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
  • • Coordinate with central procurement and approved vendors to track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
  • • Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • • Monitor stock ageing, non-moving inventory, and initiate timely disposal or consumption plans.
  • • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure on-time-in-full deliveries.
  • • Manage warehouse operations, space utilization, and storage safety.
  • • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce logistics, inventory carrying, and procurement costs.
  • • Drive process improvements using lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

A graduate in Engineering, Science, or Commerce (MBA or PG in Supply Chain preferred) with 12-20 years of relevant experience in supply chain or operations management in a manufacturing setup. Strong understanding of production planning, MRP, logistics, and warehousing practices. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
