Risk Management Specialist

Job Description:
The Financial Risk Manager will play a critical role in safeguarding our assets, employees, clients, and reputation by ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and internal policies. This includes reviewing and analyzing alerts generated from various automated electronic communication surveillance systems to detect potential violations of our policies, applicable rules and regulations, and escalating to the appropriate department when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough reviews of electronic and audio communication alerts for the EMEA region, using established trade and communications surveillance programs to prevent, monitor, detect, and report suspicious trading activities, market and client misconduct, and other compliance breaches.
* Analyze and document rationales with accurate, complete, and organized written commentary for audit trail, adhering to written operating procedures for each review.
* Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in communication logs, trade data, and other relevant information, preparing quantitative and qualitative metrics to report surveillance results to Senior Management.
* Develop and implement strategies to enhance and improve the communication surveillance program, driving effectiveness and efficiency improvements.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (8-10 years' experience in Financial Services or Banking Compliance)
* Proven expertise in using automated communications surveillance systems, with a strong understanding of market abuse/conduct/compliance topics
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to exercise sound judgment, escalate issues appropriately, and establish and maintain strong relationships across multiple departments
* Native-level proficiency in English (both verbally and in writing), with fluency in Japanese and/or French a plus
